In today’s inter-connected world, a business’ local actions can have potential global impacts. In Axxel, we find this ripple effect to be compelling and believe we too can effect a change for the better. After considering our company's impact on the environment, our social engagement with our community and staff, as well as our corporate governance, we decided to transform our business into a sustainable one. One that is not only profit driven but factors in the whole triple bottom line: profits, people, and planet. As such, Axxel’s sustainability policy focuses on our environmental policy as well as our labour policy.

Leveraging on Renewable Energy

Solar Energy

In line with our sustainability policy, we actualised our solar energy efforts in August 2020. With the trusted support from Sunseap Group, we installed a Solar Power System on our office headquarters which as of now offsets 20% of our energy consumption. We diligently monitor our energy consumption, and we are proud to be able to produce an estimated 20MWh of energy per month. That is the equivalent of powering a standard 4-room HDB house for over 4 years! Consequentially, we enable the savings of an estimated 9T of CO2 emissions every month.

Electric Vehicle & Charging Points

We have been collaborating with Charge+ in their mission to install 10,000 charging points across the island within this decade. As part of this mission, Axxel will be installing 10 charging points, including 2 direct current (DC) fast charging points in our main building. The chargers will support our “zero emission” target for our last-mile delivery operations through our affiliate last-mile company, Okwhere. To provide a sustainable and affordable delivery service, Okwhere will introduce electric vans into their fleet starting from 2Q2021 with our Axxel building as home base.
